Izložba traje do 30. aprila, a u toku trajanja izložbe sam autor organizuje stručna vođenja.

…………………

At the Faculty of Fine Arts gallery, an exhibition by Uroš Đurić was organized on the occasion of the faculty’s day. His autonomous production radiates individuality and authenticity, as the title of the exhibition suggests, “Autonomism Here and Now.”
The author examines a broad spectrum of years from 1989 when he composed the Manifesto of Autonomism with his classmate Stevan Markuš, all the way up to the present day.

The questions are relevant. The punk lying “face down” and showing the middle finger to the viewer marks the artist’s desire for independence, while the print of Elvis Presley from his military days also speaks of a strong individual. We see paintings with lines arranged in a uniform and peaceful tone. With this exhibition, Đurić emphasizes the importance of remaining an authentic individual amidst the proliferation of petty capitalist values. Some paintings, with their color scheme and neatness, resemble flags. Uroš Đurić represents the flags of autonomism “here and now” in line with Buddhist and New Age philosophies of being in the present moment. Our gaze rests on the paintings of lines but is also disturbed; there is also one painting of turbulent lines titled “Voyage.” “Perhaps something has happened to Žižek,” it says in one of the paintings, and this concern extends to all people who struggle and speak out against capitalism and the systems that operate on these principles. There is no room for concern, the painting “Voyage” conveys, that it’s time to act now and here while the voyage continues.

Đurić, in a conversation with an RTS journalist, recalls his beginnings when he worked as a DJ at the club “Akademija,” collected bottles, tore tickets, and used the earnings to buy himself a guitar and amplifier. As an individual who personally experienced the transition from one regime to another, Đurić remained autonomous – authentic and entirely himself, and in his unique way, he speaks about his perception of the world. Đurić advises young students that in art studies, they should surrender themselves to the experience of art and, through a “living dialogue” with their peers, express their own experience of reality, the world, and art from that standpoint. Ultimately, through this exhibition, Uroš Đurić advocates for staying authentic and independent.

The exhibition lasts until April 30, and during the duration of the exhibition, the author himself organizes guided tours.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
